Floating Wine Cellar — Premium Hotel - Jacksonville

This project features:

A ceiling-anchored, visually weightless wine cellar finished in a designer-specified Mink tone — laminated tempered glass, concealed stainless-steel supports, illuminated Starphire sandblasted shelves, sliding lockable access doors, and more than 90+ precision-fitted glass panels.

Scope

The designer envisioned a floating Wine cellar and elegant interior glass partitions that would bring openness, sophistication, and visual continuity to the space. Jax Custom Glass was entrusted with bringing that vision to life by measuring, fabricating, and installing every glass component specifically for the project.

Challenges

Source and transport glass panels in the exact Mink tone specified by the architect while maintaining strict commercial safety, security, and durability requirements.
Fabricate and install 90+ individually measured panels so the entire assembly reads as a single, floating object from every viewing angle.
Combine multiple hardware products and custom finishes — including custom-painted components — to match the designer’s intent.
Install large, fragile panels at height using ladders and elevated staging while preserving hotel finishes and maintaining the cellar’s exact visual alignment.
Coordinate a complex material and schedule sequence so fabrication, delivery, and installation aligned with the hotel’s opening timeline.

Result

A collector-grade wine cellar that reads as a single, floating object in the hotel lobby while meeting commercial safety, security, and durability standards. The finished installation — more than 90 laminated and tempered glass elements, illuminated Starphire sandblasted shelves, custom hardware finishes, and keyed secure access — became a show-stopping centerpiece that precisely realized the designer’s vision and stands up to daily hotel use.
